‘Always give a good account of yourself,’ Trisha must have been told as she advanced through her years of tutelage.
And today, Trisha Narine is the Accountant here at BMETT as convincing proof of how she has honoured that admonition.
Trisha undertook the cross-country trek of her life, sweeping through all the cardinal points of T&T before joining us at BMETT. She started her education from appropriately-named Spring Village Hindu School, pacing herself successfully through the ‘Ivy League’ Lakshmi Girls’ Hindu; then tucking a number of tertiary-level training experiences onto her belt; and ascending the academic ladder all the way up to her pursuit of a Master’s in Business Administration, focusing on Finance.
Her professional trajectory over the past two decades was equally unbounded by geography, working as she did at reputable firms in San Juan (Agostini’s and Anthony P. Pierre), Chaguanas (Holiday Snacks), Arima (Intersol Ltd), and Caroni (Label House). In all instances, she commanded significant responsibilities…ranging from Financial and Performance Metrics Reporting to Inventory Management and Warehouse supervising, Purchasing and Auditing.
Then came her arrival in 2018 at not just a pride of San Juan but a preeminence of T&T: BMETT.
To us she has brought the full phalanx of her Accountancy and Business skills—from ensuring our in-house personnel are paid their wages to making sure the State is paid all its taxes; from reporting on past performance to the Directors to submitting budgets and forecasts for future guidance; from implementing procedures to managing cash flow.
Trisha genuinely walks the talk by combining her Soft Skills (from Active Listening, to Customer Service) with her Technical Skills (from Peachtree to PowerPoint), all based on her professional platform of being ethical and passionate, analytical and meticulous; adjunct to her private persona that hooks her up with the diversities of fishing and customizing cars, as well as reading and music.
At the end of a working day––at whatever time that is––Trisha Narine leaves her desk without leaving behind the job that has become her calling at BMETT, satisfied that by all pertinent ‘accounts’, she has done us all proud giving such a good Account of herself.
